Each day features a full schedule of free workshops, events for the family, food demonstrations, and music, as well as all-day attractions and the exhibit hall.

Featured workshops

The Expo features 48 workshops, including several nationally recognized speakers that you won't want to miss:

  • J. Drake Hamilton, science policy director at Fresh Energy, is a Minnesota-based, nationally recognized speaker on clean energy. She’ll present the latest science and what we need to do to reduce global warming pollution in Minnesota. (Sat., 2-3 p.m.)
  • Kent Nerburn, Minnesota author, will tell stories from the reservation, highlighting what native people can teach us about living humane, respectful, and balanced lives. (Sat., 1:30-2:30 p.m.)
  • Rick Tolman, executive director of the National Corn Grower’s Association, along with Dennis Olson (Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy), will discuss the future of biofuels and food production. (Sun., 2-3 p.m.)
  • Terry Gips, president of Sustainability Associates, will present several approaches to sustainability and highlight how it can save you money and time, plus your health and the Earth. (Sun., 11 a.m. - Noon)
  • State and local leaders will discuss greening government and how citizens can get involved. (Sat., 11 a.m. - Noon)
