The 2010 Expo is being organized by the Minnesota Environmental Partnership.


What's new and notable

With so much going on each day, it's hard to know what will be going on where.

There will be a printed program available at the event, but these schedules of events and attractions will help you get a handle on what's happening on Saturday and Sunday at the 2009 Expo.

New Exhibit Spaces

Come to the Star Tribune Outdoor Living Tent, where you can talk with exhibitors and attend workshops on cold frames and greenhouses, organic lawn care, rain gardens, recycled patio furniture, compost, and more. Whether you have a condo balcony or a multi-acre lot, you’ll find something for your outdoor space.

Green building will be featured at the AFL-CIO Labor Pavilion, two blocks east of the Grandstand. Workshops, guided building tours, and master craftspeople on hand to answer your questions.

More Kids' Activities

Family-friendly activities will be featured in the Wells Fargo Kids' Area (Grandstand) and at the AFL-CIO building.Earth Balloon is Awesome!

Earth Balloon. Journey to the center of the earth. Guided tours will take you inside the 20-foot-high inflatable globe for a unique perspective, viewing our changing planet in its entirety.

Raptor Center. Live raptors will capture your attention and engage your senses with family-friendly activities.

Food demonstrationsFood

New cooking demonstrations at the Renewing the Countryside’s Homegrown Cooking Stage in the Grandstand. See the full schedule of presenters.

New vendors in the food court, including Island Noodles and West Indies Soul Food.

Meet local producers of sustainably raised food, including participants in the Community Food & Farm Festival.

Free perks

Daily: Free Blue Sky Guide to the first 150 attendees (1 per family) in the morning, plus 50 more books at 4 p.m. at the AFL-CIO Green Building location (2 blocks east of the Grandstand). Compliments of Great River Energy.recycle CFLs

Free recycling of residential compact fluorescent bulbs. Bring them to the Great River Energy outdoor recycling center tent both days of the Expo! Last year we recycled over 1,000bulbs, and we hope to collect even more in 2009.
